Ethan's Big Day!

It's amazing how a new baby can change anyone's life. Especially after a 13 year pause, yes, definitely a big change. A new little man has taken over my world, my son Ethan. I'm super excited in planning his 1st birthday. Since I'm a major advocate for literature, I went with the theme "Dr. Seuss" in general to decor his party. Little by little it's coming all together. I'll share with you some quick shots of the projects I'm completing for this party. Hope you all enjoy it!

Here's the decor I've put together to place on his high chair the day off. Believe it or not, I went to The Dollar Tree and Marshall's and found me a great deal on ribbon, most of this I was able to find in their clearance area. The Dr. Seuss ribbon I was able to find at Walmart.

Oh what bargains can we find at our local department stores. For invitations, I found two Dr. Seuss Theme Note Card boxes (24 each) for $3 at Marshall's. I simply created the interior wording on a Word document on white card-stock paper and glued it onto the note card with color card stock paper as background. Very simple process.

THE BIG DAY FINALLY ARRIVED!

Oh The Places we went to that day! From Party City to Dollar Tree to Wal-Mart you to Home Depot, you name it, we visited.

Being in the education field has its advantages, I get to see and meet many talented youths. The cake was beautifully done by one of my students, not a bad way to make a buck or two. :-D

And what would life be without SWEETS! :-D Lots and lots of treats to sweeten up life. Candy apples are really easy and fun to make. Thanks to Mahalodot.com the following link that is what guided me on how to prep my candy apples http://youtu.be/670ykvA4FCg Dr. Seuss print-outs were simply Dr. Seuss pics printed onto cardstock paper and cut-out.

Nothing more fun that to take pictures! A photo booth, props, clown and LOTS of face painting brought LOTS of smiles of peoples faces!
